This style of photography is ideal for creating timeless, artistic portraits that highlight the sweetness and innocence of your newborn during their earliest days.
The best window for posed newborn photography is between 6-14 days old. During this time, babies are typically sleepier, making it easier to pose them in those peaceful, curled-up positions.
However, I understand that life doesn’t always follow a schedule, so I’m happy to accommodate newborns who are older than 2 weeks. While older babies may be a bit more alert and less flexible, we can adjust the session to capture their unique personality and charm.
Whether your baby is in the ideal window or a little older, I’ll work with you to ensure the session goes smoothly and results in beautiful, memorable images that you’ll cherish forever.
Booking your newborn session

Contact Me Early
It’s best to book your session during your pregnancy—ideally by the 2nd trimester. This ensures I have availability. I'll roughly mark you down on the books for 7-10 days after your estimated due date. After your baby is born, we’ll schedule the session within the ideal window of 6-14 days old. If your baby is older than 2 weeks, no worries! I’ll adjust the session to make sure we capture their unique personality and charm.

Pre-Session Consultation
Before the session, we’ll discuss any preferences, themes, or special items you’d like to incorporate (like personalized wraps, hats, or family heirlooms). I’ll guide you through what to expect, and I’ll make sure we’re prepared for a smooth, relaxed session. Choose from handmade and high-quality items from well known and trusted newborn boutiques in my Client Closet.

Session Day- I Come to You
As a traveling photographer, I bring everything to you! I’ll arrive at your home with all the props, wraps, backdrops, and equipment needed for the session. You don’t need to worry about a thing—I’ll create a calm, comfortable environment to photograph your newborn in the comfort of your own space.

Final Gallery Delivery
Once your session is complete, I’ll carefully edit your images and deliver your final gallery within 3-4 weeks. You’ll receive high-resolution images that beautifully capture your newborn’s earliest moments, ready for you to treasure forever.

When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
The best time for newborn photos is between 6-14 days old, when babies are still very sleepy and easy to pose. However, if your baby is older, we can still capture beautiful moments—just be prepared for more awake and active shots.
What if I go into early labor and baby stays in nicu?
Great question! If your baby needs to stay in the NICU, we will still aim for the 6-14 day window based on your original due date. Once your baby is healthy and ready, we’ll schedule the session accordingly. I understand that things may not always go as planned, and I’ll be as flexible as possible to ensure we capture those precious moments at the right time. Your baby’s well-being is my priority, and I’ll be here to support you throughout the process.
How long does a typical newborn sessions last?
If baby is fed, sleepy, and content, Newborn sessions can be as quick as 1-1.5 hrs, but usually last up to 3-5 for Newborn + Family Portraits. This allows time for feedings, soothing, and plenty of breaks to keep your baby comfortable and relaxed. We can't forget about the occasional blowout lol
What should I do to prepare for the session?
Make sure your baby is fed, comfortable, and sleepy before the session. I’ll provide more detailed instructions after you book, including tips on how to help your baby feel calm and ready for the photos. A "Newborn Session Checklist" can be found under the drop down "Forms" tab located at the top of the Homepage.
Can I bring outfits for baby to wear?
You are welcome to bring heirloom pieces or any special items with sentimental value, such as blankets or family keepsakes. However, I do not allow and will not use any cheaply made Amazon, Shein, or Temu products bought due to the lower quality. I provide high-quality, handmade clothing in my Client Closet from trusted boutiques and well-known newborn brands to ensure your baby’s session is as beautiful and timeless as possible.
Can parents or siblings be included in the session?
Absolutely! I love capturing the special bond between your newborn and their family. Parent/Sibling poses are included in Lifestyle Package and Posed NB + Studio Style Family Portraits Package, and can also added on to the Baby Only Package.
What if my baby is already over 2 weeks old and was not required to stay in nicu due to early labor?
While the ideal time is within the first 14 days, I can still accommodate older babies. We’ll adjust the session to suit your baby’s stage and personality, focusing on natural, relaxed moments.
How long does it take to receive the final edited gallery?
I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos! Your unedited proof gallery will be emailed within 5 business days of our session- which will also include an edited sneak peek. From there, you can expect your finalized gallery emailed 3-4 weeks from the date you inform me of your selected favorites to be edited. I prioritize quality as I hand-edit each detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations. Purchasing additional images may affect the turn around time of your gallery. YOU MUST INFORM ME OF YOUR COMPLETED FAVS LIST IN ORDER FOR THE EDITING PROCESS TO BEGIN. I will never assume your favs list is complete.
