FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

It depends on the package you choose - each collection includes a set number of edited images, which we’ll go over when booking. That said, I always love to sneak in a few extras as a little surprise. If there’s a moment that makes my heart pause, I’m not leaving it out!

What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?

For that fresh, sleepy, curled-up look, I recommend scheduling your newborn session within the first 5–14 days after birth. That said, I fully understand that every baby and family is different—so don’t stress if we’re a little outside that window. My lifestyle approach allows for flexibility, and older newborns bring their own kind of magic with eye contact, stretches, and sweet expressions. Whenever we document your little one, the goal is the same: to capture the love, connection, and beauty of this brand-new season.

How should we dress for our family session?

I always recommend choosing outfits that feel like you, but elevated just a bit—think timeless, cozy, and coordinated (but not matchy-matchy). Neutrals, warm tones, and soft textures like knits, linen, or cotton photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection. Avoid bold logos, neon colors, or anything too distracting.

If you’re unsure, don’t worry! I’m here to help every step of the way and can send over style guidance or even help you build a color palette based on your session’s vibe. And remember: comfort and confidence go hand in hand- when you feel good, it shows. I also offer a Client Closet filled with beautiful gowns, dresses, and children's clothing items to help style you and the fam!

✨ Be sure to check the “Forms” tab on my website for my Family Styling Guide- it’s filled with helpful tips and inspiration to make outfit planning easy and stress free!

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

Absolutely! Most of my clients say the exact same thing at first, and honestly? That’s completely normal. You don’t need to know how to pose or perform—I’ll gently guide you and create a relaxed space where you can just be yourselves. My approach is all about connection, not perfection. I promise, by the end of our session, you’ll forget the camera is even there—and you’ll leave feeling more confident than when you came in.
Another tip: Parents, say it with me, "I will not let my child's actions stress me out during our session." Now repeat that at least 5 more times and take a deep breath haha TRUST ME just embrace the chaos. It doesn't bother me any. I'm a mom as well so trust me- I get it. I take a child-led approach to capturing your story, resulting in memories that you'll look back on and remember how beautifully crazy life is raising children.
